Day 4

11th Feb

2Ch 17:12  So Jehoshaphat became increasingly powerful, and he built fortresses and storage cities in Judah.

2Ch 17:13  He had much property in the cities of Judah; and the men of war, mighty men of valor, were in Jerusalem.

After the description of Jehoshaphat, it then lists the thousands of armies that served beside him.

  • Jehoshaphat was blessed by God in every way.

  • He prospered in wealth.

  • He had an incredibly powerful army.

  • They could have gone up against most of their enemies in battle.

  • But on this certain day he has news about a huge, formidable army that was heading his way.

2Ch 20:1  After this, the Moabites and Ammonites with some of the Meunites came to make war on Jehoshaphat.

2Ch 20:2  Some men came and told Jehoshaphat, “A vast army is coming against you from Edom, from the other side of the Sea. It is already in Hazazon Tamar” (that is, En Gedi).

2Ch 20:3  Alarmed, Jehoshaphat resolved to inquire of the LORD, and he proclaimed a fast for all Judah.

Although he was a powerful king the news of this vast army coming struck fear in his heart

  • Instead of panicking, calling a crisis meeting, it says he resolved to inquire of God.

  • When his heart was overcome, he went to the overcoming

  • When he felt overwhelmed, he inquired of the omnipotent all-powerful God.

  • Can I ask you when you are alarmed, facing a crisis, feeling overwhelmed, who is the first person you go running to for advice?

  • King Jehoshaphat resolved to inquire of the Lord.

  • In this 21 Days of prayer and fasting, why not set your heart to hear from God, allow God to speak to you, lead you, guide you.

  • As you meditate on his word allow God’s word to speak to you

  • Find the principles and promises that are related to your breakthrough.

So, grab the prayer goals that you have written out and begin to declare what God says about your situation.

As you begin to declare breakthrough in that area God will begin to establish your prayers in the spirit realm.
